The Effect of Gamiyukgunjatang on the Obesity in Rats

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was carried out in order to investigate the effect of Gamiyukgunjatang on the obesity in rats.
The rats were divided into 9 groups - The Normal groups fed with normal diet(Normal 1·2·3). The Sample groups fed with high fat diet, and since fifth week had fed Gamiyukgunjatang(Sample 1·2·3). The Control group fed with high fat diet(Control 1·2·3).
The result were obtained as follows ;
1. The rate of increasing weight was significantly decreased at the second and third week in the sample group as compared with the control group.
2. The rate of feeding effect was significantly decreased at the second and third week in the sample group as compared with the control group.
3. The quantity of glucose in the serum was increased in the control group as compared with the normal group, and was significantly decreased at the first and third week in the sample group.
4. The quantity of total cholesterol in the serum was increased in the control group as compared with the normal group, and was significantly decreased at the second week in the sample group.
5. The quantity of triglyceride in the serum was increased in the control group as compared with the lnormal group, and was significantly decreased at the first week in the sample group.
6. The quantity of lipid peroxide in the serum was increased in the control group as compared with the normal group, and was significantly decreased at the second and third week in the sample group.
According to the above results, Gamiyukgunjatang has significant effects on the obesity in the rats
